BeautyDrop Validation Plan

BeautyDrop is like Too Good To Go, but for beauty appointments. Beauty professionals can post last-minute open slots, cancellation spots, slow-hour deals, or model-needed appointments at a discount. Customers can find same-day or next-day beauty deals near them.

Concept

BeautyDrop turns unused appointment time into a local marketplace. A provider posts a specific service, time, discounted price, location area, and notes. A customer finds the opening and requests the appointment.

The first version should prove that both sides understand the exchange without requiring a full production app.

Target Customers

  • Customers who want beauty services but do not want to book weeks in advance
  • Price-sensitive customers who will try a new provider for a clear deal
  • Busy customers looking for same-day or next-day availability
  • Beauty-curious customers who browse nails, lashes, brows, hair, facials, makeup, or waxing by deal

Target Professionals

  • Independent nail techs, lash artists, brow artists, hair stylists, estheticians, makeup artists, and wax specialists
  • Beauty pros with cancellation gaps or slow-hour openings
  • Newer providers building a client base
  • Providers needing models for portfolio work, training, content, or new techniques

MVP Scope

The MVP should stay narrow:

  • Landing page explaining the marketplace
  • Static customer deal cards
  • Static pro open-slot submission flow
  • Manual collection of interest only after the validation plan is approved
  • One city or neighborhood focus
  • A small number of high-intent categories

Out of scope for the MVP:

  • Payments
  • Provider accounts
  • Customer accounts
  • Live booking calendar sync
  • External APIs
  • WordPress or Bluehost publishing

Validation Metrics

Track the smallest signals that show whether this marketplace has pull:

  • Landing page visits by source
  • Clicks on "I want beauty deals"
  • Clicks on "I am a beauty professional"
  • Deal-card request clicks
  • Pro submission starts and completions once collection exists
  • Category preference by click behavior
  • Provider willingness to post at least one real slot
  • Customer willingness to request a specific time and price
  • Qualitative objections from providers and customers

First City And Category Recommendation

Start with one dense local market where independent beauty providers already promote openings on social platforms. The first test should prioritize nails, lashes, and brows because these categories are frequent, visual, locally searched, and easier to explain as single appointment slots.

The first category recommendation is nails, especially gel manicure openings and model-needed nail sets. Nails are familiar to customers, price comparisons are clear, and independent providers often need portfolio content or fillable schedule gaps.

Launch Plan

  1. Publish the Vercel landing page manually after local review.
  2. Send traffic from local beauty groups, provider outreach, and simple social posts.
  3. Track customer CTA clicks separately from pro CTA clicks.
  4. Interview beauty professionals before building accounts or calendar logic.
  5. Add a lightweight form only after the CTA language and category focus are clear.
  6. Manually match early customer requests with provider openings.
  7. Build the real app only after repeated supply and demand appear in the same city and categories.
